Springfield Fellowship began as a church plant in February 2017. About thirty men and women began gathering weekly to pray and seek God's will for the Springfield community and for the opportunity to put down roots. This core group of believers held its first meeting in the basement of the Robertson County Funeral Home where God moved in some amazing ways as we each shared our vision for the community and for the future of a new church.
As we continued to pray and seek God's direction, doors were opening faster than any of us could have imagined. It was in late March/ early April that the Robertson County Senior Citizen Center offered to open its doors for us to hold weekly gatherings for time of prayer and church business. A few short weeks later, we were blessed to hold our first service. Rob Blackaby from the Canada Baptist Seminary delivered our first message; one of hope, patience and prayer.
In May, God opened a floodgate! Temple Baptist, in White House, unanimously voted to help get Springfield Fellowship up and running. We can't tell you the overwhelming amount of love, kindness, encouragement, and guidance we received from this group of fellow brothers and sisters. It truly has been a match made in heaven!
Since early May 2017, Springfield Fellowship has held weekly church services at the Robertson County Senior Citizen Center. We have been blessed to have talented worship leaders sent our way, along with godly men bringing us God's word.
Fast forward to January 2019. We have incorporated as a autonomous church. we called Danny Dixon as a pastor in March, 2019.
It has been an AMAZING journey thus far and we know it is still just the beginning!
The Mission of Springfield Fellowship is to SEEK, SERVE, and SEND.
Seek; the lost, hurt, and weary while seeking God's will through fellowship with one another and through the reading of His word. Serve; our community, local education establishments, local businesses, and help support and serve with other churches in the area.
Send; when called to GO, we will GO into all the world to make disciples for Christ (both locally and abroad).
Even though we are small, we have partnered with local churches to help with the homeless cold weather ministry, My Father's House, and Master's Table, for Thanksgiving meal distribution.
We are helping to support Daniel Willms, a missionary to the Middle East, and are continuing to help with mission trips and fund raising for an orphanage in Haiti.
